What can I do at Globenotes.com?

- Keep an online travel diary
- Upload photos and movies directly from any Internet-enabled computer without having to re-size them.
- Plot your itinerary on a dynamic virtual map.
- SHARE YOUR ADVENTURES WITH THE WORLD!

What makes Globenotes.com so unique?

Here are the top reasons why Globenotes.com beats the competition hands down when it comes to travel blogs:

Designed specifically with travellers in mind

Unlike normal blogging sites, Globenotes.com is designed specifically for backpackers or holiday makers.
All travel diaries on the site are created by people who share the same passion for travelling!

Globenotes.com is also streamlined to make diary input a speedy process even when your Internet connection is fairly unreliable:
Avoid the frustration of a power black-out on some remote island, by using the 'Quick-Save' button which will allow you to save your diary several times as you type it, so that you don't lose your precious work!

Pictures are re-sized and compressed automatically

Picture re-sizing is also automatic so that it makes the upload process a breeze

Loads of space

If you subscribe to a paid account (8 euros for 6 months, or 12 euros for a year), you will receive 300 MB of storage space for your pictures and movies.

300MB may not sound like a lot when you consider some digital camera prints are about 0.5MB in size, but we use an advanced compression algorithm so that all pictures are reduced in storage size - to save space - without significantly reducing the quality of the picture.
This means that 300MB of space will allow you to store over 12,000 pictures!!!

Dynamic map of your trip:

We have included maps from every country in the world. We have left the locations up to you.
When you add a new location, simply click its position on the map and a dot will appear showing your location on the planet.
Add as many locations as you like for each trip.
Different locations on your trip can also be joined by lines to show the route you've taken... just like the maps you see on airline magazines!!

Backup your trip on a hard-copy so you never lose it:

We at Globenotes.com know exactly what its like to have a year's worth of travel-writing deleted in one fell swoop by unscrupulous websites!
Thankfully we have come up with an elegant solution: with the click of a button you can backup your diaries onto a text file which you can save to your hard-disk or e-mail to your friends for safe-keeping.

Automatically notify your friends whenever you add new content to your site:

Add friends to your mailing list, and then whenever you add a new diary or upload a picture, simply click a button to notify them!
People can also add themselves to your mailing list!

Option to make each travelogue public or private:

You can, if you wish, create one travelogue that is PRIVATE (for stuff you don't want the parents to see!) and one that is PUBLIC (for everyone else). Set a password for the private travelogue and give that to whomever you wish.

Fully customised account:

Globenotes.com want you to enjoy the style of your personal website, so we give you a lot of scope to customise your account.
Anything from "whether you want lines to connect the dots on your maps" to "allowing people to subscribe themselves to your travelogues" can be turned on or off.

Run by travellers FOR travellers:

Finally... Globenotes.com was created by travellers for travellers.
We know exactly what it's like to be having the time of your life while travelling the world and wanting to tell everyone about it (with as little hassle as possible!)
Globenotes.com are constantly looking for feedback and suggestions on the site. We want to make the site as useful as YOU want.
Simply mail us at admin@globenotes.com with any suggestions and we'll look into it straight away!

But I'm going to the "back o' beyond"! Will I be able to log onto Globenotes.com?

With very few exceptions, Internet cafés are available literally everywhere these days... from small islands off Thailand to the Iguazu falls in Argentina to outback Australia, Internet-access is now a global phenomenon!

Who uses Globenotes.com?

Travellers young and old use GlobeNotes.com - from near and far. Many members are taking extended tours while many more are sharing their annual excursions. Even non-travellers use it to keep tabs on their loved ones or as a means to live vicariously through someone else's adventures. Any person who understands how to send an email possesses the know-how to use GlobeNotes.com.

How did Globenotes.com originate?

The idea for Globenotes.com lies with its creator, Peter Foran (peterforan).

While taking 16 months out to travel around the world, Peter logged his travel experiences, maps and photos on a website that he had created himself prior to leaving. The website quickly became popular among Peter's friends, family and even hundreds of fellow travellers who praised the idea and wanted to know how they could make a similar website.

Upon his return, Peter decided to take them up on this idea and launched into creating Globenotes.com: an online travelogue website for those who either don't know how, or don't have the time to create their own diary system.
He incorporated the best ideas for a travel diary site into a very user-friendly design which finally launched as Globenotes.com in November 2004.
We give you Globenotes.com: take it where you want!

Who runs Globenotes.com?

Globenotes.com is owned and operated by a team of ex-backpackers-turned-computer-geeks since 2004 when it was first introduced as a revolutionary way for people to share their adventures online with the world.
The site is hosted and run from Dublin, Ireland.

HAPPY TRAILS!

- The Globenotes Team -
Traveling takes many forms. From air travel to the sea cruises and on-foot journeys, choices are endless. While on travel, managing your consolidation loan plans can become cumbersome. With health insurance being essential, you need to make sure you are traveling debt free to get the psychological benefits out of it. At the end of the day if you find yourself worried with the credit card debt elimination hassles, it's a good option to take help from some investment banking system.
