I thought of you when I had that pizza...you and me share a love for seafood. I will always remember this time in, but that doesn't mean I don't miss you all like crazy. Love you

Yeah, I pretty much feel like I'm in a fairytale and that there's no way that I really got to do this. I think it will be really exciting to look at the pictures and convince myself I was here when I get home. I actually got my truck sold. Yea! I love you

Wow, that is some expensive living! I will make sure and scan some of my sketch book into the site as soon as we switch locations for the final two weeks.

It's not really that hot here. It was actually cold today because it rained all day long. But it does rain a lot here. How did your doc. appt. today go? Love you both!

We are pretty busy because of all the stuff that we have planned for us, but we are pushing for a little more free time and just enjoying ourselves regardless. I love you, Daddy

The funny thing was that your mom was the one who put it on our itinerary, so everyone was temporarily blaming her :)

Tell Gizmo that she has me for another two months when I get home. I'm getting to the pictures...we just keep going and going and it seems like we never slow down long enough to get all of pictures in order, but I will tonight!

I know it's great, I was like "Just take the offer so that we don't have to deal with it anymore" and Mom and Red can get a pretty big refund on insurance. I'll be sure to take lots of pictures and you can make copies! Love you too, and baby...and Brian

Studying
|
Sorry that I haven't added any entries in a long time. We are studying right now and doing a lot of design work for the books we are creating. Plus, the internet here is less than satisfactory, so I never know when I can get on. I can't really upload anything because it will crash the whole system, I guess. Anyways, I have designed some neat pages for our travel/cook book that I would love to show all of you when I get home. I still have a lot of work ahead of me in the next two weeks, though. I have a total of 8 spreads to finish completely, which is 16 single sided pages. I have two complete pages done right now, so I need to kick it into high gear for the rest of the trip. Today we went to the Hever Castle. It was pretty neat to see and sketch. They had a hedge maze that took us forever to get through, And a water maze that shot out water at us when we stepped on the wrong stone. It was pretty fun to get out of the classroom. I forgot to explain where exactly we are. We are in the Sussex area, which is really far south. I think the beach is not too far away, but we don't get to go there...even though I love the beach. The best thing I have to tell you though (which most of you know) is that my baby nephew was born on the 13th. Cash Anthony is 8 lbs. 8 oz. and super cute. I am dying to see him and it's just killing me that I have to spend another day with out holding him in my arms. I know that he is going to be a girl magnet when he grows up because he is already making me crazy over him and we haven't even met yet. I just can't wait till I finish up this work and come to all these changes that are happening. Needless to say, I probably won't post much or check this too much because of the poor internet and because of my severe need to focus on my work. I hope that I can see everyone when I get back to show you all of my sketches and work and photos. In fact, if you wait to see my photos a while I just might have a scrapbook started on it (after I work on a scrapbook for Cash the cutie). Love to all, Jen |

Unexpected Rain & Snogging
|
The first think on our to-do list for the day was a trip into the town that we are close to. Holmsted Manor is actually a tiny college area with students who take classes here. The trip into was invaded by a rainstorm that drenched us in the cold of the day…not too fun. I was glad to get back for lunch and dry off. For class today, we made a list of words that are different in the UK compared to America. Then, each of us picked one word to do our daily project on. My word is Snogging, which means making out. Our job was to spell the word out with something and show the meaning somehow. I spelled it in the grass with some daisies from the field and had my teacher and his wife lay in the grass below it and kiss. The photo is supposedly going to be the divider for our section of the book. I think it is funny that mine is making out. We had curry chicken for dinner and it was really good. Now we have free time, so I am catching up on my blog and working on assignments. I’m starting to get homesick though and I miss everyone. |

Here We Come Holmsted Manor
|
This morning was a morning for packing and preparing for our next place to stay. After breakfast, David helped me compact all my stuff better so that all my souvenirs would fit. Then he hesitantly took me to my bus stop. He is such a sweetheart that he bought my bus ticket because he knows that money is tight for me right now. I was the only one on my 1 ½ hour bus ride to meet up with my group. Then, we switched buses and took ½ hour trip to Holmsted Manor, which is our residence now until we leave for home. We had our first class today, where we worked on a page for the book we are making about our free days. It is a little stressful to have so many pages that we will have to finish by the end of the 2 weeks, but I think the finished book we are making will be worth it. I ended the day with some laundry, catching up on e-mails, and talking to David on the internet (I already miss him). |

Best Day Yet
|
The title doesn’t include the morning because we had travel from Belfast back to London by plane and bus. I can’t emphasize enough how much money everything is over here because our dollar is not worth as much to them. But we made it back safe with only minor delays. Kyle went with his parents, so David and I had the night to ourselves. We took a walk through St. James Park to Buckingham Palace to get some picture, since I failed to get pictures of it while I was here (and it’s pretty important). I discovered that there are no guards that have the fuzzy hats outside the palace…they must only wear those on special occasions. That was disappointing, and sorry to Kacie that I couldn’t take pictures of them for you. But it was a beautiful walk, building, and gates. Then, we got a little snack and ate it at Trafalgar Square. All that walking made us hungry and thirsty. We then took the tube to various places that we wanted to go. David wanted to go to a store called Lillywitts to look Football (soccer) jerseys. It wasn’t a very successful trip. We tried our luck with Primark clothing store, and I got some of the shirts I saw at the one in Belfast because my mom gave me money to get some. Everything is really cheap there and it is all good quality. I feel bad though because nothing seemed to work for David. He plans on going to another sports store to look for soccer jerseys while he stays in London. Dinner for us was at an Italian restaurant called the Spaghetti House. The service was not really good, but the food was. I didn’t realize it, but I ordered almost the same thing that I did the night before at the place we ate at in Belfast. It got dark so we took the tube to do night photography at Big Ben, the House of Parliament, the London Eye, and Tower Bridge. The city was beautiful at night, just as it was the first night we were here. I’m really glad I got this time with David to spend enjoying the city. I stayed on the floor in David’s parent’s room. My last full night in London! *sad face* |

An Irish Day
|
Words can’t even describe how wonderful today was. We started off with a bus ride to Tollymore Forest. This is one of those places where you just absolutely know that God made with careful hands. The scenery was breathtakingly beautiful, and we got to take our time exploring. We even came across a rope swing going across the river, and I did it and then got David to do it. We had brought lunch with us, so we ate there. The expensive bus ticket out there was so worth it. We went into the town of Newcastle, which is right where Tollymore is. Free time was available, so we used it on the beach there. I got a lot of tiny shells with the intention of making a necklace out of them and the guys skipped rocks. Our friends on the Irish Summer Studies program with JBU were in a town just five minutes from us, so we caught a taxi over to see them for a few hours. It was nice to catch up and hang out with them in another country. (It was Noah and Evan Burner for those of you who were wondering). We took a bus back to Belfast and had dinner at an Italian food restaurant. I had a pizza (way better than our pizzas) with shrimp and muscles on it. After that we came back to the house we are staying at and played some card games. Tomorrow: we fly back to London and have the rest of the day free. |

Ireland, Here we come!
|
Our flight over to Ireland was not as smooth as our flights from America. We had a delay on our planes departure that lasted until 12:30pm, which was about and hour and a half later than what we had planned. Also, we had to take buses to and from the airports, and it was not cheap at all. Here in Belfast We are staying with a couple named Ben and Jo Lynn that graduated from JBU a few years back. They were really nice to open their home to us considering that they are moving back to the states in a week and they are in the midst of selling their house and car. We did a little exploring of Belfast. We say City Hall, which is a really neat building, and we went up to the top of a viewing tower in the mall to look out over the whole city. It was a really neat experience because I feel like we have gotten a chance to do that in a lot of cities we’ve been to (England: St. Paul’s Cathedral, Oxford: church spire, Belfact: lookout gallery). There is also a really neat store here called Primark that has tons of cloths for really cheap (like 1.50 pounds per shirt). We shopped around there till it closed. We decided to go to see the Botanic Gardens in the town. It was basically a little part right next to this beautiful Queens University building. The area was just really nice to look at it for a while. For dinner, we ate a fast food pub called Bishops. I decided to get fish and chips again to give it another try, but I found out that I just don’t like the taste at all. We were so tired after that. We even fell asleep on the floor of the house we were staying at for a nap. Not too long after that, we were out for good for the night. |

Oxford and David!
|
This morning, we left our beautiful temporary hotel and headed toward that town of Oxford. It’s not a very big town, maybe like Siloam Springs size. I thought that Oxford University was just one big college in a single location, but it is a bunch of small “colleges” that all make up Oxford University, each specializing in their own field. We weren’t really able to go into any of the colleges. So, we climbed the stairs of the spire in the church there and looked out over the whole town. There wasn’t a whole lot of things to do there except for seeing the old buildings and the parks. We had an hour and a half bus ride back to Vandon House because we are staying there tonight. Guess who was there to meet us…David and his family. I was so super excited to see him again. He also got to come out to eat with us at this Japanese restaurant called Wagamama’s. I had kind of the same dish as last time our group at there (fried rice, chicken, and shrimp) but I had two fruit popcicles that were pretty much amazing. For the next 3 days, Kyle and David and me will be in Ireland for our free days. I don’t know | | | | | |
