Why stop now?
I thought why stop now? I've been on another trip since coming home and I just thought I would share it with all of you.
The night before leaving for Innsbruck I was wise enough to attend a wreckless party for Simon & Julie's wedding. After 3 hours sleep I awoke completely nauseated and exhausted. Couldn't wait for the 1/2 hr taxi ride to the airport, 1 1/2 hr check in process, 2 hour flight & 2 hr car ride at the other end. At the time death seemed a welcome option.
Thank heavens that for the first time in years the Gods allowed me 3 seats across in the aeroplane. Off went the shoes and I allowed myself the luxury of a quick kip before facing my best friend who I hadn't seen for over a year. Luckily Carol & her boyfriend Ben were ready for my diminished state and welcomed me with open arms, strapped me in the front of the car and gently told me about the very relaxing day they had planned.
As it turned out the liver prep that I had worked on the night before, was well worth the effort. Apart from slogging up Austrian mountains, relaxing by stunning lakes (check out the pics here). and wondering the old town we did a lot of downing copious amounts of food & wine. Always one of my favourite pastimes but one that my jeans are now complaining bitterly about. Oh well... let's just say there is lots of gym planned when 'real' life starts.
Carol and Ben were the perfect hosts and their new flat is pretty as a picture. I am very excited that we have many long weekends planned for the coming year.
Came back with a lovely suntan (read burn - Innsbruck was suffering a heat wave with temperatures reaching 36 degrees) and fully energised for my new job. You would think that the year off would have already achieved that, but now I am super energised.
Now we just need to get Andrew sorted with the job of his dreams.
