Life is full of surprises!
We were welcomed to Yichang this morning as we got off our boat at 6.30am by the agent bearing the tickets for our train trip tonight to Guangzhou (from where we will catch a train to Hong Kong tomorrow morning). When the agency in Chongqing had promised this 'meet up' I'll admit we were sceptical and had set aside the day for hopefully tracking down the aforementioned ticket holder. Life is full of surprises!
We will be staying for about 5 days with Sas and Dan (met Sas in Uni) and are going to try and be the perfect huisgaste (houseguests) because Lord knows we have known some duds. Smelly breath and raw fish are 2 stories that spring to mind - those who know about these will be giggling right now. Andrew just found out that his Uncle PJ will be in HK at the same time so we will hopefully meet up with him too. We saw him a few months ago in London so it will be great to see him again.
Okay... I think I have had enough of this internet cafe now. Smoking is okay everywhere still in China and as much as it pains me to admit I am starting to become like my mother - smoking everywhere is NOT okay with me. Am I getting old?
