Prague, Czech Republic
Just what friends do!
The currency is very confusing and the language difficult to speak, but what the Czech Republic lacks in money and speak it more than makes up for with its monuments, river, gardens and history. We've spent a very enjoyable two days, three nights here with Alicia. It's been such an unexpected gift, given that we didn't think we'd have much time with Gorey and didn't know we'd be spending a few days in the Czech Republic!
We spent time paddling one of those yellow plastic boat-cycle things in the river (Marcus nearly killed us in a head on collision with a tourist boat!), enjoyed great meals, drank some of the local wine, watched England draw 2-2 with Sweden, and moseyed around Prague Castle (which took us forever to find!)
This morning we make our way to Stuttgart for the massive Socceroos-Croatia game. It's all very exciting - tonight will be our first night overseas spent on the floor of a friend's hotel room - it was bound to happen some time or later! James and Nick Sherry, family friends of Marcus, have come to the rescue - Stuttgart, we've been told, is too small a place to accommodate 50,000 fans from around the world, so single travellers are having to make friends very quickly or else it's a night on the tiled-floor of the train station!
