My first major illness-----------
Well well well well well
My first major illness has attacked me. Geez, first the robbery and then the sickness...what next? Cross my fingers and send out some prayers people that I am a-ok.
Yesterday I was all pumped to see the Dalai Lama. I got my cushion, radio and I was set to go. But in the morning I woke up with slight icky belly. About a half hour before the start of the teaching I decided against it. I went back to the room for a sleep.
When I woke up Kate and the gang was back. I started to get a major set of the chills. At one point I had 3 sleeping bags and 4 blankets on me---I just couldn't warm up. THEN, came the projectile from both ends. So hard I could just not stop. I was totally dizzy and couldn't even sip the water. Benson, bless his heart ---took full care of me. Cleaning my vomit--and other yucky stuff, tuckign me in. Kate---is now my residential doctor giving me my meds. Suzanne came up with idea to get a heater and the doctor---Shree gave me his blanket and froze all night. The rest gave me love and biscuits to get better. Just amazing. At one point I was crying burning hot tears (my fever was really bad) and just crying for my Mom. But then the team pulled together to help me out. What love.
So as I said earlier Suzanne & Shree went to get the doctor and he made a house call for me. Through the windy path over the muddy mountain to our house he brought his suitcase. I was totally out of it and couldn't even move to talk to him. I had three issues....intestinal infection (Causing acid reflux), mild hypothermia (causing chills, fever, etc.), and dehydration (barely drinking any water. Just tea to keep warm :( ) Then out came the needle. Kate was a rock star because I couldn't figure out what was going on so she overlooked the procedure and made me feel ok. I got a gigantic needle (4 medicines in 1) right in the bootie.
Whatever it was that doctor gave me it made me feel 110% better. It was just fabulour. My chills, vomiting, icky belly all went away. It took some time and after the famous SOS pill that totally wiped me out---I fell asleep and now today I am feeling HEAPS better.
It is just amazing to think. I have never been sick like that in my life. In such a short span of time I was totally ill, crying for my Mom ...then the next morning (today) not 110% but not feeling like I am on my death bed.
Thanks so much to the group for loving me enough to take super care of me, the doctor that gave me the wonder shot, and to god---for making me better!
