Friday 6 Apr
Gili Trawangan, Indonesia

Swim said the mother fishie, swim if you can...

After 10 days we are having to rip ourselves from this island and get moving again. We have LOVED Gili and LOVED Big Bubble & LOVED diving. Only 3 days left for Bali now before we fly into Cairns, Australia so we really did have to do something about getting to the right place from which to depart.

To soften the blow we have booked a lovely little deluxe cottage on the beach with a free 1hr massage thrown in. What a treat! We will soon be in the land of massage = $100, not $10 so we are taking full advantage whilst we can.

Talking about treats. My birthday was a perfect example of the type I would like to think I could look forward to every year. Andrew take note. Coffee & chocolate biscuits followed by breakfast in bed. A stunning dive in the ocean followed by a spot of local food for lunch. Then off horse riding around the island in the afternoon and a pedicure in the evening. My perfect day was completed with dinner and wine, rounded off with some good & lively conversation (met up with the Belgian's again - not that Andrew wasn't lively company before they got there Wink). Ahhh.... now I bet you are jealous! To make you feel better my horse was a bit feisty and the pedicure took 2 hrs - other than that I'm afraid I can't dent the fantasy image.

We are now in receipt of our Advanced Open Water certificates and can add to our long list of sightings with the following: Frog fish, Pink Stone fish (deadly I think), Banded Sea snake (also deadly I think), Black Tip sharks (circled us!), Octopus, Spaghetti worms, Squid (babies - how cute!), Napoleon Wrasse (bloody big), up close and personal with 15 Bump Head Parrot fish (about 1.5m long), Nudibranchs and about a million other things that I can't remember!

Just to make you feel a little better about our sinfully wonderful lives we need to get up at 6.30am to catch our boat.

'Ahhhhh...' I hear you all sigh. 'Poor bastards'.

Thank you so much everyone for all the lovely birthday emails, e-cards, private and public messages on the blog. You made me feel very special XXX
