Day 6: exploring Bangkok and leaving Thailand

We woke up for a busy day ahead at 7am. We then squeezed all our kit alongside all our souvenirs and gifts that had been purchased while in Thailand. Once we were set and fed we were ready to travel and explore the Grand Palace. After we had witnessed Bangkok traffic at 9am (which was worse than London traffic on a Friday), we finally arrived.

Our tour guide, who made us all laugh, showed us the beautiful sight of the Grand Palace, and we learnt a lot about the history, and how the lovely architecture came together. While learning we where battling against heat, and air conditioned buildings had become our new best friends! We also saw the temple of the emerald Buddha, which we all thought was very beautiful and delicate.

Our next mission was to find the place which had been allocated for lunch. To do this we had to travel thrugh bustling markets and busy streets - we ate in an all-you-can eat buffet with a great view of the river that we had been travelling on earlier on in the week which had lovely toilets. Once we were full of energy once again we purchased tickets for the ferry in order to cross the river to get to Wat Arun (Temple of Dawn), the 11th temple of the trip, while we were there most of the team climbed the steep stairs leading to an amazing perspective view of Thailand.

We then got in to our air-conditioned vans and headed towards Bangkok airport for our departure, This is where we said goodbye to two of our crew leaders who have been amazing and gave us a very warm welcome to Bangkok. We then checked in our luggage where some of the team panicked that their luggage had gone up two kilos, but were then told that it was the plastic boxes the bags had been placed in by Air Asia. We then took a short flight that took us to our next destination.... Malaysia.
