Thrills, turtles, trekking, tantrums and table tennis...

Salutations from Nam,

Thought I'd take some time to catch up on our travel log whilst in the homeland.

After the deep cleanse of Ko Samui which you all know about, we headed to Ko Tao and both earned our PADI open water scuba certificate with flying colours. We also went game fishing and I'm thrilled to report I caught some white snapper and a king macquerel...andy on the other hand, caught a cold. Attended a Lebowskifest on a beach and drank white russians under the stars.

Chiang Mai exceeded our initial expectations in that we weren't offered Opium or happy endings, but 3 days of trekking which included elephant rides, bamboo rafting and long treks in the Doi Inthanon national jungle/ forest. We bought a pig in a small village and our homestay family cooked it for us on an open fire...we ate like pigs and vowed never to watch 'Babe' again.

Although its seedy reputation soils it a bit, Bangkok is so much more than Khao San rd, which we avoided like the plague. I have seen some of your pleas for lady boy pictures (code word: Lima Bravo, for andy and I trying to be discreet in pointing them out). I met her in a club down in old Patpong, where you drink champagne and it tastes just like cherry cola. What we saw that night baffles the laws of physics and I won't bore you with the details. She walked up to me and she asked me to dance, I asked her her name and in a dark brown voice she said, rora, L-O-L-A, rora...

Got some suits made by a Margaret Thatcher's own thai tailor and found some beautiful furniture which is being shipped back. I haven't pulled an Imelda Marcos yet and have only purchased one pair of flip flops so far on this trip!

Andy temporarily misplaced his passport at a bank (ref. Ike Turner outburst #4) but we thankfully located it before it got pawned off. He's actually quite easy to travel with, as long as I make sure he's fed, bathed, and changed.

Cambodia was another story altogether which I'll save for our next travel log...much like Thailand, it was packed with (code word) 'Sierra Tango's.

Hope you are all happy. Give us your news when you get a moment.
