Last Day in Istanbul

Merhaba from Turkei
(hello from Turkey!)

As this is my last day of free internet at my hostel I figured that I should write one more blog entry.

Istanbul---what a beautiful city full of interesting and spectacular things to see. I havent done a quarter of the things that a person may see in Istanbul---time permitted and heat is a factor. THat leads me to say OMG it is hot. I have been changing twice a day trying to play down the amount of BO I have going on! haha. Nice picture.
The place that I have been staying is wonderful and just as you may imagine it. The place is full of lovely carpets and tile art from around turkey. The staff is very friendly and willing to help you with anything. I spend most of my nights on the terrace overlooking the Blue Mosque and the sea listening to music with fellow back packers. I was quite afraid at first and scared to be alone but the people that I have met have made me feel so good about my decision to leave Canada.
What an interesting point to reach when you have nothing but time. You have no one to answer to except yourself---it is taking me a while to get adjusted but I have to say---it isnt that hard!!! haha.
I have been around looking at the blue mosque and the aya sophia which is packed full of amazing history for both muslim and christian religions. I took a ferry out to one of Istanbuls four main islands. My pal Niel and I rented bikes and toured through the mountains settling on a beach with big plush pillows to rest on.
Today I went around the town to the grand bazaar which is OUT OF CONTROL. There are about +4000 stores with people all ready to make a deal. I wish that I could send you all something fabulous from here but the cost of shipping and really the lack of knowledge on how to ship is another factor.
At first I had a hard time with the men here but that was because I didnt know how to handle them. Now I am making friends with normal---not creepy people all over the place. They (woman and men) are quite hospitable and are always offering up a cup of apple tea. Quite yummy.
Tonight I am going to hang with my pals here and relax on my last night before travel.
I am catching a train. ferry. and bus to my next destination. Ayvalik. It is a coastal town that is very apparently very lovely. I am looking forward to it.

Lots of love.
