Tuesday 8 Jul
Ciudad Bolivar, Venezuela

day 93

After a couple of police roadblocks on the way, where luckily they just checked our passports, we arrived in Ciudad Bolivar around 9am. We had been speaking to a school group on tour during the night and whilst waiting to get our bags their guide for that area tried to sell a tour to Angel falls for that$350. Got some information off him and then blagged a free ride into the centre to look at his posada and discuss the tour at his office. After putting my wheeler dealer head on managed to get a 3 day tour to the falls, free accomadation for the night breakfast today and tomorrow and the room when we come back at a discounted rate (£1.25  per night) all for the some of $212 not bad :) We then went in search of some money changers and arter originally being offered 60bs for the$1 managed to get 67bs. It was then time to find a bar to watch the world cup semi final between Brazil and Germany, couldn't find a bar anywhere so ended up in a small square by the Orinoco river watching with the locals who were suprisingly supporting Germany.
