New York, New York, and Washington DC

Hello all,

Have been living it up in the Big Apple for the last few days. Up the Empire Sate Building, over the Brooklyn bridge, round Manhattan island. All go and all very exciting. Then went out to a very swish restaurant with Vicky and her New Yorkan pals (celeb spotted - Mary-Kate Olsen no less). Strange but of all the places in the world that i have been nowhere has been quite like i expected. Except here. which is exactly like i expected. in every way. ppl even more so than i thought! It is fairly hilarious.

But have been eaten alive by mossies of late. Which is unimpressive.

Anyway, yesterday SALLY flew into town. Hilarious times. utterly random to have her here with me - joyous of course but suddenly feels like i'm partially back in the real world and the last 5 months haven't quite happened.

We headed to DC today, exciting greyhound and far less exciting epic journey to the hostel (not actually epic, but seems that way with 2 massive rucksacks etc., sally has a beast of a suitcase too so between us we take up fairly large amounts of space.)

But now arrived at our Hostel which seems nice as, a bit random (just a converted house) but, free peanut butter sandwiches and free internet so no complaints! Heading into Chinatown for some din dins, then exploring the museums tomorrow, then just wandering the streets on the 4th and after that, who knows! the world is our oyster!

Hardly any time left on this crazy journey but i will endeavour to squeeze as much joy from it as i possibly can.
