Roraima Day 5

Set off for the decent at 9am. Due to the nights rain this was more hairy than anticipated. In places the path was actually a stream and the rocks and tree roots were very slippy. It took us about the same time to climb down as up because of this. Today we were covering the same distance as both days 2 and 3 but it was mainly down hill. After a very early lunch at the bottom of the mountain we walked 10km to the first nights camp. Due to the heavy rain the night before crossing the 2 rivers with our backpacks was more difficult than the first timeā€¦ we were all well practiced by this time though, and with Rileys help made it across safely. Back at the base camp there were more warm beers to buy which was really welcome. The guides also gave us a couple of bottles of wine and t-shirts to congratulate a successful trip.
