London, United Kingdom

Almost done !

Hard to believe but the three weeks is coming to a close. We are spending our last evening just outside London with some friends then off the the airport on Saturday morning.
Sarah and I thoroughly enjoyed The Lion King, the costumes, make up, staging etc. were absolutely outstanding and Sarah feels it is time to see it again SOON ! There are just so many shows in London that I would love to spend a few more afternoons or evenings cathcing up on some live theatre. We had supper that evening with Ursula and Phil as well as her brother, wife and two sons who were also visiting London. Sarah and I are getting well versed with the underground so make our way around quite efficiently. We spent the following day walking and shopping as well taking photos along the Thames, Houses of Parliament and Big Ben. As we were in London, it would not be the same without some rain so we did sit under our umbrella for a while by the steps of the Westminters Bridge in the shadows of Big Ben and had a hot dog. As we proceeded to make our way across the bridge, I started making like Mary Poppins as the wind whipped up and pulled the umbrella flipping it up and bending it. Quite a sight as I tried to hang on to it. We never floated away "up up in the atmosphere" but pretty close !! We managed to get together with another cousin, Ed (Cary's brother) and his partner Lucy plus their two sons, Joe and Louis that evening. It was great to catch up yet again after so many years of not seeing each other. We all look forward to the next visit which will hopefully be sooner rather than later. It is 24 years since I was last in the UK and I certainly cannot see waiting another 24 !! This morning Sarah went with Cary and Terry to their allotment (garden patch not right by there house) to pick some fresh potatoes, beans and raspberries to have for our lunch !!! A great adventure I might add. I managed to pack the suitcases which was also a great adventure ! We are departing soon for the train for our next desitnation so the next email may be from the UK or from back in Medicine Hat.
Cheer e o !!!!
