Don't try to eat past 8pm

This little trip to central Gernany has been filled with nice people and interesting sights, but these little towns seem like ghost towns after 6pm. Since it is summer and I am located in a higher Latitude the sun stays out longer than I am used to. Sunset is past 9pm here. In Ferdinandshof, it never quite got dark. It was always twilight even at 3am. Anyways we tried to eat at a resturant tonite, but couls not find one. When we finally found one that was open. We quickly went inside and found ourselves a table. When the waitress came around, we thanked her for coming to use becasue we were so hungry. But she replied that her hustband, the cook, went to bed and that we could not get any food. Suck! So we ate bread, carrots and fruit for dinner. Lesson learned: be aware of the local resturant closing times before going out on excursions.
