Wanaka, New Zealand
We don't see the world as it is, we see it as we are...
Because we expected bad weather on the West coast we took a spontaneous decision to stay in Wanaka, a cute town about an hour away from Queenstown, for the day. Also Andrew had promised that I could visit - Puzzling World Cheesy but fun!
We tried to outwit the maze, although to be honest it did outwit us right at the end as we climbed over a barrier to get out! Andrew was feeling nauseous from all the turns... More intriguing illusions followed in the Ames Forced Perspective Room, Tilted House & Hall of Following Faces... Spooky....
This was followed by a STUNNING walk in the Mount Aspiring National Park - I'm back on that 'stunning' word again, but really this time it is all that I can think of to describe it. Check out the pics here. It was blowing like a bastard up there but the views were insane.
We finished off the day in the spa pool of the 'caravan park where the whales go to die'.
Ooohh must tell you a few things we discovered in Queenstown - this amazing gourmet burger place, Fergberger , open from 7AM till 5AM. Queues all the time, replicate it and mint it. Also spent far too much money at the innovative Wine Tastes. Tasted some of the best Chardonnays & Pinots ever! Delicious.
